Inviting Contributors
The more people who contribute, the more special the board becomes. Here's how to invite contributors and maximize participation.
Ways to Invite People
Email Invitations
The most direct method. Add email addresses during board creation or from the management page. Recipients receive a personalized email with:
- A direct link to the board
- Your campaign message
- Clear instructions on how to contribute
Share Link
Copy the board's share link and send it however you prefer:
- Group text or WhatsApp
- Slack or Teams channels
- Facebook group or event
- Email from your own account
Note: The share link is public. Anyone with the link can view and contribute to the board. This makes sharing easy but means you should be thoughtful about where you post it.
What Contributors See
When someone visits the board link, they'll see:
- The board with your campaign message
- Any existing contributions from others
- Interactive modules where they can add their own messages
Contributors don't need to create an account. They can start adding messages immediately.
Tracking Contributions
From your management dashboard, you can see:
- Total number of contributors
- Which invited people have contributed
- Recent activity on the board
- Individual contributions across all modules
Following Up with Non-Responders
If someone hasn't contributed yet, you can:
- Resend the invitation email - Click "Resend" next to their name in the invitations list
- Send an announcement - Use the announcements feature to email all invitees with a reminder
- Send a personal message - Sometimes a direct text or call is most effective
Tips for Maximum Participation
Give People Enough Time
Invite contributors at least a few days before you plan to reveal the board. People are busy and may need a reminder.
Make It Easy
The share link goes directly to the board. No signup required. Emphasize how quick and easy it is to add a message.
Set Expectations
In your campaign message or invitation, mention:
- When you plan to reveal the board
- What kind of messages are appropriate
- That it only takes a minute
Lead by Example
Add the first contribution yourself. People are more likely to participate when they see others have already started.
Use Multiple Channels
Don't rely on just one method. Send an email AND post in the group chat. Some people check email more; others prefer messaging apps.
Large Groups
Free boards support up to 5 contributors. For larger groups:
- Anyone can upgrade the board with a one-time payment
- Upgrades add more contributor slots
- Contributors can chip in to help cover the cost
